Tip of the day: Don’t ever estimate that the Chinese taxi driver knows where is he going even if he says he does and after he sees on a paper
Achievement of the day: I actually told the driver where to go and he got us there
How simple things can be so complicated. Just imagine going to supermarket to buy sugar (an adventure by itself and boy the smell) – how about going through the 50 aisles three times to not find what you are looking for. But thank G-d for our Jenny. She is the marketing person for the hotel. She is our Jinni. She is the best Lexus driver while driving on the other side of the street against incoming traffic in closed eyes. (my closed eyes). She took us to the market last week to buy things. We missed an exit so she turned around and flew back. I have to check if this stuff is covered in our policy.
While driving we complain to jenny about the hotel laundry. I will need to sell the la Jolla house to cover, when we got back there were eight people waiting for us with our own washing/drying machine. It includes the hotel engineer ( maintenance person) with an electrician to pull wire to get us electricity in the bathroom to run the machine. This is China. Incredible. Anything is possible and achievable.
