CCTV

Tip of the Day: Don’t assume you understand what they say
Achievement of the Day: Registering the kids to Youth Center

Now we are getting into the main event. It is the ‘three weeks’ as you all know…. since our Chinese is limited to say the least….on Monday the secretary at the school came to me and basically said with her hands and broken English and my 2% Chinese that we should be back at the school that day at 5:30 the bus will be waiting. OK???!!! I really didn’t know for what and started to do some research..one told me it is probably the beer festival. Great! Me with Beer. Just what I was dreaming for. Another said it is probably for the famous Dalian fashion show. Sure! Who cares? Anyway we decided to take our chances and be at the school at 5:30. The bus was waiting and off we go. After half an hour we get into this huge square (it is the largest Square in Asia) police, security and a million people (at least it seems that way).. we still don’t have any idea what is going on. … we get in front of a huge stage in front of the Dalian bay(not LJ but not too bad).. there are probably 1000 'chosen' that are sitting and waiting for the show to start, the rest 999,000 are outside waiting to get a glimpse at the stars. LIVE EVENT ON CCTV. (China main TV). The Chinese singing stars are coming. Wow! This is BIG DEAL! As I am looking for the first opportunity to get out of there ASAP. Of course we all came in a bus we are suppose to go back in the same bus - discipline. We got the juice after a few minutes I got up and led the group in a quick exit as our guide kept talking about 'discipline'....I wonder what all these Chinese watching the exit were thinking. "These foreigners are complete..." you know what. So all of you watching Chinese TV on Monday night and saw us now have the story behind the story.

Coming tommorow: Wait for the first karate lesson and exhibition for Udi and the 4 year cute girl touching him every couple of minutes to make sure he is alive.
