Go shopping

Tip of the Day: It will always be cheaper
Achievement of the Day: 75% of the original

It is well know that the quoted price in China is only the start of the bargaining. Well the longer you are China it means the margins just gets better. Initially you don’t want to insult them and start it so low that they kick your butt. With time I am getting more aggressive care less about insulting anyone…they love me. Case in point: A bag (leather so they say…) started at 580 Yuan ended up at 180 Yuan….I heard some curses as I was leaving the booth…not sure exactly what it was I asked my Chinese teacher what they said….’you mother foreigner should not know how to take me to the cleaner’…I was born in Israel you bum. Anyway it is a lot of fun to negotiate for 20 cents for 20 minutes. Impressive is the spread between rich and poor. There are malls that you will pay double for things you buy in US real things of course…fake goes for 10-15% of the suggested retail price…don’t ask ‘how much?’ and suddenly you are in a bargain session. Michal was handcuffed and not let out of the store/booth until she bought a belt, I grabbed her out otherwise she was still there.
